Columbus Circle Book Shelf

Inspired by the layered geometry of Manhattan and the urban framework surrounding Columbus Circle and Central Park, this custom shelving system translates the structure of New York into architectural form. Linear divisions extend across the wall like an abstracted city map—ordered yet organic—creating a composition shaped by density, openness, and movement.
At its center, the television occupies the space symbolic of Central Park: a deliberate void within the grid. Much like the park itself, it acts as a visual pause—an open moment surrounded by the intensity and structure of the city.
Crafted entirely in wood, the piece balances precision with fluidity. The diagonal structural element cuts through the framework like a shifting pathway through Manhattan, disrupting uniformity and introducing motion within the composition. More than storage, the work becomes a spatial landscape—an interpretation of New York translated through material, proportion, and architectural language.
The result is a shelving system that feels deeply connected to the city itself: innovative in structure, sculptural in presence, and rooted in the layered energy of NYC.
